If you are interested in joining the Rotary Club of Kelowna Sunrise please contact our membership director via this website to arrange attending one of our meetings. We encourage candidates to check out several meetings at our club or at any one of the other clubs in this area. Our club will buy you your FIRST breakfast when you come visit it; and if you think you are then going to be a breakfast person, please pay the front desk on your subsequent visits. Currently our full breakfast $20 and our coffee only option is $8.
Once a candidate has attended at least four of our meetings and has decided that Sunrise Rotary Club is the ideal home for him/her, the application form on this page is the next step. (We offer regular, family and corporate memberships at our club and the same form is used for all three)
The membership application form is in pdf format; therefore, individuals can type directly onto the form. Once it is completed please save it under your name and send it to the membership director (membership@kelowna sunriserotary.ca.
As we host young Rotary exchange students at our club we require all candidates to pass a free online criminal record check provided by the provincial government. Instructions for this are on page 3 of the application form. You can click the hyperlink to the government website directly from the application form.
The Criminal Record Checks take about two weeks, are totally confidential and are sent directly to the membership director. At that stage our membership committee invites the candidate for an interview. The print out of the application form is signed at that point and we explain in detail what membership with our club entails. A candidate will usually expect to be inducted about two weeks after the interview providing there are no objections from other club members.
We encourage candidates to start the free criminal records check process prior to completing our four meeting rule should they want to speed the process up.”
