PDG Rtn. Flt. Lt. K.P. Nagesh

Flt. Lt. K.P. Nagesh is a self-made entrepreneur, educator, and social activist hailing from Ramanagara District in Karnataka, India. He graduated in mechanical engineering and joined the Indian Air Force as a Short Service Commission Officer in 1988. The Air Force instilled in him the values of commitment, dedication, discipline, and time management, which have contributed to his success as a leader.

Nagesh founded UNIQ Security Solutions as a result of his entrepreneurial spirit and leadership skills. Over 10,000 people were employed by this start-up, which later became the industry leader and had more than 500 clients in South India. He also established Uniq Skill Development Academy in Channapatna, Ramanagara District. This state-of-the-art, one-of-a-kind facility is devoted to providing vocational training to rural youth so they can find employment opportunities with the Indian Uniform services and Corporate Companies.

In the year 2015-16, Nagesh served as the District Governor of Rotary International District 3190, where he set unprecedented records in membership growth, the highest growth of women and youth members, and contributions to the Rotary Foundation. His leadership made him the number one performing District Governor in the world. District 3190 was also regarded as the number one district for the year. Rotary International recognized his talent and appointed him as the Asst Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator (ARRFC) for 2016-17 and as the Endowment and Major Gifts Advisor for 2017-18.

Nagesh continued his service to Rotary International as a Rotary International Director nominating committee member and as the COL representative for District 3190 and 3191. Additionally, he was appointed as a member of the Rotary India Water Mission (RIWM) National Executive Committee for 2020-2025. He served as the Chairman for the Rotary International Zone Institute RISE held in December 2023 and now Nagesh has been elected as the Rotary International Director for the year 2025-27.  Nagesh and Family are PHF, Benefactors and AKSMembers Chair Circle.


Nagesh has been bestowed with numerous prestigious honours and awards for his remarkable contributions.

In 2019, he was awarded the ‘President of India Gold Medal’ for his distinguished services as Commanding Officer & Chief Warden of Civil Defence, Government of Karnataka. He also received the ‘Service Above Self’ award from The Rotary International for the year 2021-22, recognizing his outstanding contribution to community service.

Other notable accolades include the ‘President of India Gold Medal’ for Meritorious Services as Commandant Home Guards Government of Karnataka in 2007, the ‘Chief Minister’s Gold Medal’ by the Government of Karnataka in 2013, and the ‘Marusthal Seva Medal’ by Chief of Air Staff, Indian Air Force in 1991.

Nagesh has also been recognized for his exceptional entrepreneurial skills, receiving the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year Award’ from the Central Association of Private Security Industry in 2012 and the ‘Udyog Rattan Award’ by the Institute of Economic Studies in 2014. In 2011, he was honored with the prestigious ‘Bharatha Ratna Sir. M. Visweshwaraiah Global Leadership Award’ for his excellence in environment, social work, and education, conferred by Power Development and Energy Research Institute in collaboration with VTU, Belgaum.

Other awards he has received include the ‘Pride of India’ by Citizens Integration Peace Society in 2010, the ‘Security Personality of the Year Award 2012’ instituted by CAPSI India, and the ‘Rastriya Rattan Award’ from the All India National Unity Council in 2013. He was also honored with the ‘Naada Prabhu Kempe Gowda Award’ for the year 2013 by BBMP and was presented with the award by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Nagesh's exemplary achievements and recognition stand as a testament to his unwavering commitment and dedication to serving the community and his country. He is happily married to Mrs. Uma Nagesh, who holds an engineering degree in Computer Science and actively supports him in his business endeavours. The couple is blessed with a son, Tejas N Gowda, who holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree, and a daughter, Nidhi Nagesh, who is pursuing her Chartered Accountancy.

Satish Madhavan is a charter member of Rotary Bangalore Rajarajeshwari Nagar Centennial. He will serve as the District Governor of District 3191 for the year 2024-25. Satish's Rotary journey began in 2004-05, and he has since held various significant roles, including Club President, Assistant Governor, Zone Governor, District Secretary, District Conference Chairman, Director for Publications, Club Service, Awards & Recognitions, and Secretary of the Bifurcation Committee, among others.

As Club President, he successfully led his club to win the Best Club Award and the Rotary International Presidential Citation under President Ray Klinginsmith. His efforts earned him the Star President Award and the Excellence Award in 2010-11. As District Secretary, he received the Outstanding Service Award and the Go-Getter of the Year Award in 2015-16. Additionally, he was honoured with the Champion of Champions Award by Rotary International President Ravindran and the Rotary Avenues of Service Award from Rotary International.

Professionally, he began his career with Black & Decker as a marketing officer and later transitioned to the ready-to-wear apparel industry in the 1990s. He has worked with leading apparel retailers in Europe and the USA, holding positions at Peek & Cloppenburg Netherlands and Associated Indian Exports. He now runs his own firm, which specializes in sourcing apparel and home textiles for overseas clients. He has worked with clients such as Adams Childrenswear Ltd, Wallis Fashion, KMART Corporation, Sears Roebuck & Co, and Dollar General Corporation USA.

He is widely travelled, bringing a global perspective to all his endeavours. With a keen eye for design and a passion for reading, he continually seeks to expand his knowledge. In his leisure time, he enjoys the competitive spirit of badminton and the strategic finesse of snooker. Born to the late Smt. Sarojini and Madhavan Nair, Satish’s early education took place in Kolar Gold Fields and college in Bangalore, where he completed his Bachelor's in Commerce from Bangalore University.

He is married to Susitha, a dedicated and accomplished individual with a Bachelor's in Education and a Master's in Entomology from Calicut University. Together, they have raised two sons, Aditya and Aryan, both business management graduates. Aditya is now making his mark in strategic consulting at Wipro, while Aryan, as a brand consultant, is thriving at White Space.

Sridhar B R, born into an agricultural family and raised in Bengaluru, has been a practicing architect since 1997, specializing in healthcare projects, construction of tiny homes with sustainable living, and residential and commercial projects.

Rotary Journey:

Joined Rotary Bangalore South in 2000, serving in various capacities in the club before becoming President in 2014-15.
Received the Best Club Award during his tenure as Club Secretary in 2011.
Received RI Four Avenue of Service Award.

Community Contributions:

Utilized his vocational skills to reconstruct 26 dilapidated government schools, including two heritage schools from the British era.
Engaged all clubs in the district for the largest blood donation and diabetes awareness drives, both receiving Guinness World Record titles during his tenure as Community Service Director of RID 3190 in the 2016-17.
Chaired the Human-Animal Conflict project at Bandipur, constructing toilets for the house hold.
Actively involved in numerous TRF Global Grants, including one of the largest to establish a Cath lab at BGS Hospital, Belur Cross, Karnataka.
Volunteered in the End Polio Cycle Ride from Bangalore to Pondicherry (2013-14).

I have been involved in various Matching and Global Grants from 2009 and have been involved in various capacities of Writing the Grant applications, execution of projects, provide stewardship, reports submissions, overall managing Grant and as team member.

My Passion and vision:

I feel satisfied that I am able to put my various experiences and learnings in giving back to Society via Rotary Foundation Projects and Rotary as a platform to do service to mankind.

The whole experience has taught me many skills which I would like to contribute to the Mankind on an ongoing basis be in terms of my time, learnings or contributions to Foundation.

I believe learning never stops in life and hence would like to be part of an assignment to learn few more aspects of life.
