This committee’s focus is on seniors, those with special needs, and children and youth, especially programs benefiting these groups. The committee generally will not fund on-going operational needs (such as overhead, salaries or rent) nor fundraising efforts of one party that will benefit another, nor individual needs. The committee also considers requests to provide people for hands-on assistance. Projects can be for non-profit organizations or private individuals associated with non-profits. The committee also actively participates in the annual Duck Race, which funds numerous community activities. The race is generally held in October of each year. Duck Race information is available here.

To obtain funds or services, an organization needs to submit an application:

  1. Funds - 501(c)(3) non-profit groups can apply for up to $3,000, usually for one-time projects or for "start-up" programs.
  1. Request for assistance - non-profits can apply to receive volunteer help or “hands-on” assistance, such as moving furniture, setting up/taking down displays, and other basic tasks.  The assistance could be for a non-profit organization or for a person identified by a non-profit organization.

The application form for Community Service is available on the club's web site home page or by clicking here.
